I purchased the carrier in denim for my second baby after seeing it on a few influencers on Instagram between having my first and second child. Aside from it being beautiful and stylish (which are important to me), I wanted to see if it was really that superior.
OVERALL THOUGHTS
There were several reasons I was attracted to wanting to try the Artipoppe carrier for my second, even though I already had a carrier from my first baby, and was willing to pay the price for a new one.
1. The baby carrier I had from my first was a hand me down (which is awesome!), but I never got it to fit me comfortably. It wasn't stretchy, the straps were difficult to adjust, and I felt like I still had hold to "hold" the baby for support in the carrier while I moved around the house.
2. I was having a Texas summer baby and would have a 3 year old this time during the newborn phase. My first was a winter baby in Iowa and I rarely even needed to use the carrier. But this time it felt like I would want to use the carrier a lot! So I wanted one that would be comfortable for me, stretchy for baby, and most importantly - BREATHABLE for both of us. Texas heat is no joke. Artipoppe offered breathable and natural fibers, which was very important to me.
3. The Artipoppe has a wide range of weight it can be used with. My first baby was 6 pounds and the carrier I had at the time had an 8 pound minimum weight limit. It took my little guy a while to get big enough for us to be able to even use the carrier. Again, I figured this time around I'd be relying on the carrier a lot more while I still participated in activities with my older son.
4. Longevity! Along with an extended weight limit (up to 45 pounds), there are multiple carry positions with the Artipoppe. I loved the idea of being able to carry front facing, outward facing, and even back carry.
5. If I didn't love it, I knew I could see it. Luxury items like this always resell well.
THE VERDICT
Turns out, I LOVE the Artipoppe carrier!! All the items I was concerned about with using the hand me down carrier were resolved. It has been well-worth the investment and fit my needs well.
- The Artipoppe is so soft, stretchy, and easy to use. My husband has also used it. Yes, it is very simple to put on yourself, too!
- I was able to use it with my second son (also a 6 pounder) almost right away.
- The back carry became really helpful on a trip to Idaho where I was able to put the baby, then 15 months, in the carrier for a hike.
I share my experience as another perspective to consider as you weigh your own needs. Hope it helps!
